Prachanda to return to Biratnagar after brief stay in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, February 26 — CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has arrived in Kathmandu for a few hours.

He was previously busy with the party’s "Maoist with the People" campaign in the Koshi Province and made a brief stop in Kathmandu from Biratnagar on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Prachanda's personal secretary, Govinda Acharya, the chairman is in Kathmandu to participate in some internal party activities and discussions.

"There are no campaign events today, so he is in Kathmandu for party work. He will return to Biratnagar today," Acharya informed Ratopati.

Prachanda is scheduled to attend a program at the party office in Parisdanda, which marks the Martyrs' Day for Dilbahadur Ramtel.

Additionally, he will have discussions with leaders from the Sudurpaschim province

There has been an ongoing dispute in the province regarding the leader of the parliamentary party in Province Assembly, and Prachanda has faced criticism for not taking an active role in resolving the issue.

Leaders, including Khagaraj Bhatta, have already arrived in Kathmandu for these discussions.

Prachanda is expected to return to Biratnagar by evening and then head to Sunsari.

A party program is scheduled for Thursday in Sunsari.

Earlier on Wednesday, Prachanda participated in a morning walk in Biratnagar and also attended a press conference by the Press Centre and a program organized by ANNFSU (R).

The Maoist party's "Maoist Terai Madhes Campaign" continues from Jhapa and is set to reach other areas, with leaders like Prachanda engaging directly with the people.
