PM visits Jorpati for college inauguration, four protesters detained

Kathmandu, February 25 — Police detained four individuals for allegedly participating in a demonstration against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli during his visit to Jorpati in the capital on Tuesday for the inauguration of the newly constructed dental college building of Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital.

The protesters had posted on social media expressing opposition to the Prime Minister, leading to their arrest.

The four individuals, identified as Raju Sunuwar, Kiran KC, Rajesh Dahal, and Mohan Singh, were taken into custody for further questioning, as confirmed by SP Apil Raj Bohora from the District Police Office Kathmandu.

Despite the protest, the event proceeded with the inauguration of the new dental facility.
