NRA spends Rs 101 billion in post-earthquake reconstruction as of Fagun this year
Kathmandu –The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has spent Rs 101.62 billion in reconstruction as of the month of Fagun (February 13 to March 14) this year.
This amount has been utilised in the construction of shelters for the earthquake victims, school buildings and heritages in 14 hardest-hit and 18 moderately-hit districts of the country.
Chief Executive Officer of NRA, Yubaraj Bhusal, said that around 113,000 houses have been constructed and 384 houses were in the process of construction in these 32 districts.
He said the NRA has not been able to provide Rs 300,000 to the earthquake affected people due to the shortage of money.
Three thousand out of the 7,553 schools which were damaged by the April 25, 2015 earthquake have been reconstructed while reconstruction of 1,700 school buildings is in progress.
Likewise, 100 out of the 753 cultural heritage structures damaged in the earthquake have been reconstructed.
