Kathmandu, January 30 — A meeting of the task force is currently underway for cooperation and alliance-building among the Madhesh-based parties.

The meeting, being held at Singha Durbar, includes the participation of eight Madhesh-centric parties. The meeting has been called by the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, led by Upendra Yadav.

The Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal has formed a negotiation committee led by vice-chairman Rajkishor Yadav. This committee has called for a meeting with the negotiation committees of other parties for discussions.

The meeting includes representatives from the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, Janata Samajwadi Party, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Janamat Party, Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party, Rashtriya Mukti Party Nepal, and Janata Pragatisheel Party.

All parties, except for the Nagarik Unmukti Party, have formed separate negotiation committees.

A meeting of the negotiation committees was also held last Monday, where the committee members agreed to create a joint document for alliance-building or cooperation.

It was decided to form a task force with one representative from each party to draft the document. These topics are also being discussed in today’s meeting.
