ANNFSU (Revolutionary) faces controversy over moving ballot boxes to Parisdanda
Kathmandu, January 27 — The All Nepal National Free Students' Union (Revolutionary) has found itself embroiled in a new controversy over where to conduct the vote count for the University Province and the Valley Special Province—either at the voting site or at the party office in Parisdanda.
On Saturday, the voting centers for the new leadership were located at the Balmiki Campus on Exhibition Road.
Earlier, the vote count was delayed due to disputes over whether only the official color of the ballot papers should be recognized or if other colors should also be accepted, along with disagreements over the code of conduct.
However, a student leader told Ratopati that the controversy escalated when the election committee and its team attempted to move the ballot boxes to Parisdanda.
"The election committee and the team have tried to move the ballot boxes to Parisdanda, but Hemant Rai's supporters have insisted that the counting should take place at the voting site, fearing possible tampering along the way. This has caused delays in starting the vote count," the student leader explained.
