Cooperatives role crucial for economic prosperity-NA Chair

Pokhara –National Assembly (NA) Chairperson Ganesh Timilsina has highlighted cooperatives' crucial role for economic prosperity of the country. 

"The cooperatives however should spur their investments in productive sector", he said while addressing a programme organized here today by the Kaski District Cooperative Association on the occasion 61st National Cooperatives Day. 
The NA Chairperson asked all sides concerned to be responsible while framing cooperative policy and laws at province and local levels. 

He said the cooperatives rather than collecting savings in cheaper interest rates and charging high should engage their efforts in creating jobs within the country by flowing investments in industry, business, energy and agriculture. 
On the occasion, he also made public the second edition of Laski Cooperative Series brought out by Kaski Savings and Credit Cooperative Association.
