UML provides training to MPs on defending government ordinances

Kathmandu, January 22 — The CPN (UML) has provided training to its lawmakers to defend the ordinances introduced by the government in Parliament.

On Wednesday, the parliamentary party of CPN (UML) organized a training session at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor, where experts were invited to clarify the legitimacy of the ordinances and provide guidance to the MPs.

Mahesh Bartaula, the Chief Whip of CPN (UML), stated that the training aimed to inform the lawmakers about the importance of the ordinances and help them present stronger arguments in the House.

He emphasized that while the ordinances were brought to support the country’s economic prosperity and facilitate public service delivery, opposition parties had been undermining the government by making unfounded criticisms under the guise of opposing the ordinances.

Bartaula also mentioned that the ordinances, which are within constitutional boundaries, will be presented in the House on January 31.

He added that the government has been advised to proceed with the ordinances through a replacement bill to ensure they are managed effectively.
