Kathmandu, January 13 — The price of gold in the local market saw a slight increase on Monday.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the price of hallmark gold was set at NPR 155,800 per tola.

The previous day, the price of hallmark gold was NPR 155,700 per tola.

Recently, the price of gold has been on the rise.

On the January 6, the price of gold was NPR 152,000 per tola, which means it has increased by NPR 3,800 by Monday.

A few weeks ago, the government reduced customs duties, which caused a sharp drop in gold prices.

However, with the recent increase in international market prices, local market prices have also been affected, according to gold and silver traders.

Meanwhile, the price of silver remained stable on Monday.

The price of silver was NPR 1,860 per tola on Sunday and remained the same on Monday, as per the Federation.
