PAC Chair Pokharel dismisses personal secretary over fraud allegations

Biratnagar, January 3 — The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Rishikesh Pokharel, has dismissed his personal secretary, Anil Kumar Pokharel, from his position. Pokharel was removed after it became public that he was allegedly involved in fraudulent activities.

In a statement released today, Chairman Pokharel said, "I have been made aware of the news published in various media outlets regarding the issuance of an arrest warrant by the Biratnagar High Court against my personal secretary, Anil Kumar Pokharel."

He added, "In light of the serious allegations against him, I have decided to dismiss him from his duties as my personal secretary with immediate effect, effective today, to facilitate a fair investigation."

Chairman Pokharel further emphasized in the statement, "I firmly believe that anyone involved in corrupt activities should undergo a fair investigation, and strict action should be taken against the guilty."

The dismissal follows reports published by Ratopati.com, which revealed that Anil Kumar Pokharel had allegedly received 3.88 million rupees for securing a seat in the MBBS program.

The High Court of Biratnagar has issued a directive to investigate the fraud case against Pokharel.
