Bhim Rawal unveils plans for new party
Kathmandu, January 1 — Dr. Bhim Rawal has launched a series of sharp questions against KP Sharma Oli, the Chairman of the CPN (UML), during a press conference on Wednesday. The former Deputy Prime Minister raised one question after another, targeting Oli’s leadership.
In his 31-page statement, Rawal dedicated a significant portion to criticizing Oli, while outlining his own future plans in one section of the document.
Rawal, who has been active in UML for nearly five decades, was expelled from the party in last Wednesday’s Secretariat meeting, losing his party membership.
He had contested the party’s chairmanship against Oli during the 10th General Convention in Chitwan in November 2021, and since then, his role in the party had diminished.
Rawal also announced the launch of the "Matribhumi Jagaran Abhiyan" (Motherland Awareness Campaign), which he intends to develop into a political movement. "A patriotic political force is an indispensable necessity for the country. We will move forward with this goal," he stated.
According to Rawal, the campaign will be a nationwide effort to raise awareness among the people against corruption and misgovernance.
