Cooperative fraud case: Rabi Lamichhane brought to Kaski District Court for questioning
Pokhara, December 26 — Rabi Lamichhane, the president of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who is currently in police custody in connection with cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering, has been brought to the Kaski District Court for questioning.
Along with Lamichhane, former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, Leela Pachhai, and Ram Bahadur Khanal, who are also in custody, have been taken to the court.
So far, Chhabilal Joshi's statement has been completed, and Leela Pachhai's statement is ongoing.
After Leela's statement is finished, Rabi Lamichhane's statement will begin, as informed by the Kaski District Court.
The police submitted the investigation report regarding the mismanagement of funds at the Suryadarshan Cooperative in Pokhara to the District Government Attorney's Office. Following this, the Government Attorney's Office registered the charges last Friday and Sunday.
The defendants are accused of embezzling 1.51 billion rupees, and the claim for damages has been filed.
A total of 63 defendants, including individuals and companies, are named in the case.
