Minister Gurung asserts thorough investigation into cooperative fraud cases

Kathmandu, December 25 — Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has stated that all individuals involved in the cooperative fraud case will be investigated.

Speaking at the Tamang Journalism Award ceremony held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, he emphasized that no one involved in the cooperative fraud case would be exempt from investigation, even if they are affiliated with a political party.

He also stated that it was incorrect to say that only leaders of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) had been penalized in the cooperative case.

Gurung urged everyone to cooperate with the state's investigation and stressed the need to comply with court orders. He mentioned that interfering with the investigation is illegal.

As the government spokesperson, Gurung also informed that the cabinet had decided to recommend to the president the introduction of an ordinance related to cooperatives.

He expressed the government's commitment to working towards the country's security, economic development, and prosperity.

Additionally, Gurung mentioned plans to introduce a policy on the use of AI (artificial intelligence) followed by the creation of related laws.

He assured that his tenure would leave behind a more organized communication and information technology environment in Nepal.
