Bamdev Gautam forms committee for unity talks with CPN (US)

Kathmandu, December 24 — The "Party Unity National Campaign" led by Bamdev Gautam has formed a three-member committee to initiate talks for unification with the CPN (Unified Socialist).

According to campaign general secretary D.B. Karki, the three-member negotiation committee has been formed under his leadership, with Bhagwati Bista and Loknath Dhamala as members.

Bista is the secretary and Dhamala is a standing committee member of the campaign. From the Unified Socialist side, discussions have been led by Chairman Madhav Nepal, senior leader Pramesh Hamal, and leader Balram Baskota.

Leader Baskota confirmed that once the formal formation of the negotiation committee is announced, discussions will continue, and campaign leaders and workers will be integrated into the Unified Socialist.

Baskota added, "We have heard that the negotiation committee has been formed. If it is officially established, we are ready. After their central committee meeting, formal decisions will be made, and then the process will proceed."

Earlier, the Unified Socialist’s standing committee meeting decided to initiate dialogue for Gautam's integration into the party.

Following this decision, leaders like Madhav Kumar Nepal visited Gautam's residence for discussions.
