NPL Qualifier 1: Janakpur Bolts post 139 runs against Sudur Paschim Royals
Kirtipur, December 18 — Janakpur Bolts set a target of 140 runs for Sudur Paschim Royals in the Nepal Premier League Qualifier 1 held today at Kirtipur Stadium.
Opting to bat first, Janakpur faced early setbacks, losing key wickets at regular intervals.
Lahiru Milantha was dismissed for 12 runs (14 balls) by Dipendra Singh Airee, while captain Aasif Sheikh was bowled out by Saif Zaib for 11 runs (10 balls).
Shubh Kansakar (26 runs off 24 balls) was run out, further reducing Janakpur to 59/3 after the first 8 overs.
James Neesham provided the most significant contribution with the bat, smashing 45 runs from just 23 balls, including 3 boundaries and 3 sixes.
Dipendra Singh Airee was the pick of the bowlers for Sudur Paschim Royals, claiming 3 wickets for 29 runs in his 4-over spell.
Saif Zaib also impressed, picking up 2 wickets for 20 runs in 3 overs. Scott Kuggeleijn took 1 wicket for 32 runs in 4 overs.
