TUSC confirms Assistant Professor exam on November 15 as scheduled
Kathmandu, November 13 — The Tribhuvan University Service Commission (TUSC) has confirmed that the examination for the position of Assistant Professor, scheduled for November 15, will proceed as planned. The vacancy for the Assistant Professor position, issued in 2020, had not been followed by an exam until now.
The commission clarified that despite partial lecturers warning of a possible postponement, the exam will take place on the scheduled date.
In 2020, an advertisement was issued for 581 seats for the Assistant Professor position. A case was filed in the Supreme Court against the advertisement, and following the court's verdict, the commission set the date for the written exam.
However, partial lecturers currently employed at Tribhuvan University have warned that they will not allow the exam to take place unless the university moves forward with ensuring monthly salaries and finalizing the contractual process. They have given this ultimatum in protest.
According to an agreement made on July 30, the university has formed a field monitoring committee. Based on the reports from this committee’s field visit, Tribhuvan University plans to prepare a procedure for the appointment of teaching assistants.
