Indian Army Chief Dwivedi to visit Nepal

Kathmandu, November 13 — Indian Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi is set to visit Nepal. On the formal invitation of Nepal's Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel, General Dwivedi will embark on a five-day visit to Nepal.

According to the Nepal Army's Directorate of Public Relations and Information, General Dwivedi will visit from November 20 to November 24.

During the visit, General Dwivedi is scheduled to pay tribute at the Bir Smarak (War Memorial) at Tundikhel, inspect honor guards at Army Headquarters, meet with COAS General Sigdel, interact with students at the Command and Staff College, and visit the Western Division Headquarters, as stated in a press release issued by the Directorate of Public Relations and Information on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, on November 21, President Ram Chandra Poudel will confer the honorary title of COAS General on Dwivedi in a special ceremony. During his visit, General Dwivedi is also expected to hold formal meetings with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Defense Minister Manbir Rai, as confirmed by the Directorate of Public Relations.
