Prachanda urges Maoist rank and file to engage directly with people
Kathmandu, November 13 — CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has directed party leaders and cadres to visit every home, neighborhood, and individual, urging them to engage with the people in a spirit of self-reflection.
Addressing a candidate declaration event in Kirtipur on Wednesday, he emphasized the importance of making the local level by-elections result-oriented.
Prachanda acknowledged that although the Maoist party had faced some shortcomings in the past, they had worked for the benefit of the country and the people while in power.
"We want to start a new movement for the liberation of the people. We want to change ourselves," he said. "It is essential to meet every household, neighborhood, and individual. Only then can we achieve the desired electoral results. I appeal to everyone to meet people with self-criticism."
In the program, Prachanda also mentioned that the public understands the positive work the Maoist party has done while in power. He further noted that people are now aware of why a new government was formed.
