Cultural diversity key to national prosperity: Prachanda

Kathmandu, November 1 — Pushpakamal Dahal "Prachanda," chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), stated that the protection and promotion of all castes, languages, religions, cultures, and civilizations are fundamental to the country's prosperity.

In a message of goodwill on the occasion of this year's Tihar, Nepal Sambat 1145, Chhath, Falgunanda Jayanti, and Guru Nanak Jayanti, Prachanda emphasized that the cultural unity derived from diversity is a core part of Nepali identity.

In his message released on Friday, the former Prime Minister acknowledged the significant loss of lives and property due to floods and landslides this year but expressed hope that despite these crises, all Nepalis should have the opportunity to celebrate their cultural festivals.

"These festivals contribute significantly to fostering mutual unity, social harmony, and tolerance among the Nepali people, awakening a sense of national spirit," Prachanda said in his message. "Cultural unity through diversity is our unique identity as Nepalis. The protection and promotion of all castes, languages, religions, cultures, and civilizations are the foundations of the nation's prosperity."
