Tusker attack in Rautahat claims one life
Rautahat, November 1 — A wild elephant attacked and killed a 70-year-old woman, Pathali Tamang, in the northern region of Phatuwa Bijaypur Municipality while she was sleeping in her home this morning.
The elephant caused significant damage to the victim's house. Inspector Indramani Adhikari from the Bijaypur Area Police Office confirmed the incident upon arriving at the scene.
During the attack, the victim's husband managed to escape and save himself. The elephant also damaged another house, according to Inspector Adhikari.
Teams from the Nepal Police, Division Forest Office Chandranigahapur, and Armed Police Force Base Camp Bijaypur have reached the site, and further investigations are underway.
