Lamichhane's statement postponed after long interrogation

Pokhara, October 29 —The statement of Rabi Lamichhane, president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), did not take place today (Tuesday). The police postponed the statement after approximately eight and a half hours of questioning on Monday.

On Monday, he was questioned at the office of the government attorney. He was arrested on October 18 and has had his remand extended for a second time.

Meanwhile, it is understood that he will be taken to Rupandehi only after the Tihar festival. A warrant has also been issued against him by the Rupandehi District Court.

As the Tihar holiday is about to begin, the police have indicated that even if he is taken to Rupandehi, there will be no possibility of presenting him in court. "The Tihar holiday starts on Thursday. Even if we take him, there won’t be any proceedings," a police source said, "So it will have to wait until after Tihar."
