Security heightened at Baluwatar as RSP protests (photos)
Kathmandu, October 29 — Following a demonstration by the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Baluwatar demanding the release of President Rabi Lamichhane, a significant number of security personnel have been deployed in the area.
Lamichhane was arrested on October 18 in connection with a cooperative fraud case, prompting RSP to stage continuous protests. The party claims that the government has unfairly targeted their president.
During today’s protest in Baluwatar, clashes occurred at various locations with the police, resulting in the arrest of 15 RSP cadres.
