Opposition parties set to meet President Paudel
Kathmandu, October 23 — As the government reaches its hundred-day mark, opposition parties are preparing to meet with President Ramchandra Paudel. This information was shared by Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the leader of the major opposition party and chair of the CPN (Maoist Centre).
On Wednesday morning, Dahal informed officials from party-affiliated intellectual organizations about the impending meeting. However, according to Dahal’s personal secretary, Ramesh Malla, while preparations are underway, a specific time for the meeting has yet to be finalized.
Malla indicated that the meeting could potentially take place at 4 PM. He informed that the discussion would focus on the current political situation and the government’s activities, rather than submitting a memorandum or seeking attention.
“There is no intention to present a memorandum or seek attention from the President. The opposition parties wish to engage in a dialogue about recent political developments and government actions,” Malla stated to Ratopati. He noted that while 4 PM has been mentioned as a possible time, it has not yet been confirmed.
Earlier, on Monday, opposition parties met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to submit a 13-point memorandum. They concluded that the government has failed in its first hundred days. The opposition coalition includes the Maoist Centre, Unified Socialist, Rashtriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), and Aam Janata Party (AJP).
