SAFF Women's Championship: Nepal faces Maldives today in a must-win game
Kathmandu, October 21 — Nepal is set to play their second match of the group stage in the SAFF Women’s Championship against the Maldives today (Monday) at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu.
The match will kick off at 5:30 PM.
Nepal is under immense pressure to win this game as it drew 0-0 with Bhutan in the opening game. It is a must-win game for Nepal to book their place in the semis.
Star forward Sabitra Bhandari, known as Samba, will be crucial for Nepal. She arrived in Nepal on Sunday night after playing in a professional league in France.
The Maldives, having lost 1-0 to Sri Lanka in their first match, will also be looking to earn points against the strong Nepali team.
Earlier today, Sri Lanka will play Bhutan in Group B, starting at 1:30 PM.
