Nepal Army provides transportation services for soldiers during Dashain
Kathmandu, October 9 — The Nepal Army has provided transportation services for soldiers and their dependent families going home for the occasion of Dashain, 2024.
Under the soldier welfare program, discounted transportation services (both ground and air) have been operational since October 5, 2024, at various locations across the country, according to the Directorate of Public Relations of the Nepal Army.
So far, 1,230 people have traveled via bus in areas accessible by road. In remote hilly and mountainous regions, where road access is limited, 721 individuals have used the air service.
According to the Army Directorate, this service, which will operate until October 10, 2024, has already facilitated travel for 1,951 soldiers and their dependent families.
The Nepal Army stated that it has been conducting various welfare activities aimed at active and retired soldiers and their families as part of its welfare initiatives.
