Polish woman found dead during trek
Rasuwa, October 8 — A 23-year-old Polish national, Sowinka Agnieszka, passed away last night in the vicinity of Surya Kunda, located at the border of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts during a Himalayan trek.
According to Keshab Bhattarai, the chief of the Rasuwa District Police, Agnieszka, who held passport number 'FE 3051811', died near Surya Kunda. With the assistance of the Nepal Army's Shrinath Battalion and local Nepal Police, her body was transported to Gosainkunda and then flown to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajganj, Kathmandu, this morning via helicopter.
Bibek Adhikari, flight manager of Air Dynasty, informed that the body was brought to Kathmandu at the request of the Real Himalayan Trekking office and with the cooperation of local security agencies.
Police chief Bhattarai mentioned that additional personnel have been deployed for further investigation, stating that the cause of death, whether due to altitude sickness or other factors, will only be known after the autopsy report.
