Canada T20 Tri-Series: Nepal set to face Oman tonight

Kathmandu, September 29 — The Nepali national cricket team, currently on a tour of Canada, is set to play its second match in the T20 international series on Sunday. Nepal will face Oman in this match, which is scheduled to start at 21:45 Nepali time.

During their Canada tour, the Nepali team has shown disappointing performances. They have not won any of their four matches played in the League 2 series. One game against Oman was abandoned due to rain, earning Nepal one point.

In their first match of the triangular T20 series, the Nepali team lost to the host nation, Canada, by 14 runs. Canada, batting first after winning the toss, scored 123 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted overs.

In response, Nepal managed to score only 109 runs before being all out in 19 overs. Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel scored 37 runs, while Kushal Malla contributed 12, Dev Khanal made 11, and Sandeep Lamichhane added 10 runs.

Other Nepali batsmen failed to reach double figures. On the bowling side, Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami took three wickets each, while Rijan Dhakal and Dipendra Singh Airee claimed one wicket each.

So far, the Nepali team has not secured a single victory on their tour of Canada. There are significant issues with the batting, particularly among the top-order batsmen, whether in the League 2 ODI format or friendly T20 internationals. Therefore, the Nepali team will be seeking their first win against Oman on Sunday.
