Heavy rain: Death toll reaches 21 in Kathmandu Valley
Kathmandu, September 28 — Continuous heavy rainfall since Thursday has led to the deaths of 21 people in the Kathmandu Valley alone. According to the police, 9 people died in Kathmandu, 9 in Lalitpur, and 3 in Bhaktapur.
Their deaths were caused by floods, landslides, and collapsing houses. Four people are reported missing in Kathmandu.
The Kathmandu police stated that search efforts are underway for those missing due to floods and landslides. In Bhaktapur, three people have died, while in Lalitpur, the death toll stands at nine.
Two people were rescued by helicopter, and 281 were rescued by security personnel from Lalitpur.
In Dhankuta, two people have died and two are missing.
Additionally, two deaths have been reported in Panchthar, three in Kavre, and one in Dhading, according to the armed police.
