Nine dead in Lalitpur floods; Eleven missing
Kathmandu, September 28 — Nine people have died in Lalitpur due to floods and landslides. The condition of 11 individuals swept away by the flood remains unknown, according to Lalitpur SSP Shekhar Khanal.
A total of 283 people have been rescued from the Nakhhu, Nakhipot, Kusunti, and Gotikhel areas. Helicopters from the Nepal Army were also used in the rescue operations, SSP Khanal informed. He stated, “Two individuals were rescued via helicopter.”
In total, 1,100 police personnel have been deployed for rescue efforts in Lalitpur, with additional manpower being mobilized, SSP Khanal added.
