In pictures: Rain disrupts daily life in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, September 27 — Most parts of the country are experiencing light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning since Friday. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has indicated that the weather will generally be overcast to fully overcast across the country during the day.

According to the department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in many areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in some areas of the remaining provinces. The rain has also impacted daily life in Kathmandu.

The department also forecasts heavy rain in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in parts of Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces. There is also a likelihood of strong winds in some areas of the Terai region.

Additionally, the weather is expected to remain generally overcast to fully overcast across the country tonight. The department noted that the influence of a low-pressure system located in North Central Maharashtra, India, is causing this overcast condition in most areas.
