Heavy rain advisory: Night bus operations suspended on September 27 and 28
Kathmandu, September 26 — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has urged heightened vigilance in districts at high risk of heavy rainfall.
In a notice issued today (Thursday), the authority warned of potential heavy rain across the country from tonight through Sunday.
Previously, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology indicated that 56 districts would experience heavy rainfall, cautioning that there could be damage to life and property.
The department projected that all seven provinces would face significant risks due to heavy monsoon rains over the next four days.
The authority has specifically advised against operating night buses in the mountainous and hilly districts on September 27 and 28.
Additionally, they recommended delaying rice harvesting and, if already harvested, advised proper storage.
The authority also urged high vigilance in landslide-prone areas and riverbank settlements, advising against going to riversides for collecting firewood or fishing.
