CPN (Maoist Center) to continue House disruption
Kathmandu, September 15 — The main opposition party, CPN-Maoist Center, has announced that it will continue its disruption in the parliament. Chief Whip Hitaraj Pandey conveyed this following a briefing about the discussions held with the chief whips called by Speaker Devraj Ghimire.
Pandey stated that, upon the Speaker's request for further internal discussions within the party, he would be heading back for internal deliberations.
Pandey noted, “The issue is not just with the words; it is an attack on the entire spirit of the People's War. We will continue our disruption here, and further discussions will take place within the party.” He also mentioned that no agreement had been reached.
The Maoists decided to obstruct the House following the Speaker’s ruling that the term "violence" is parliamentary terminology.
