Ruling coalition meeting scheduled for Monday
Kathmandu, September 9 — The ruling coalition is set to hold a meeting at 4 p.m. Monday afternoon at Baluwatar, the official residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, according to the Prime Minister's Secretariat.
However, the timing of the meeting may be adjusted due to a concurrent Cabinet meeting.
The main agenda for the meeting includes evaluating the government's performance and building consensus on a common minimum program for future government operations.
Prime Minister Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, and UML Vice-Chair Bishnu Paudel, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, discussed on Sunday about the formation of a task force to determine a common minimum program.
The top leaders of the two parties also discussed that task force would include General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa and spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat from Congress, along with Pradeep Gyawali and Bishnu Rimal from UML.
