Adverse weather affects regular flights
Kathmandu, September 1 — The domestic flights have been affected due to adverse weather.
The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) office informed that both domestic and international flights from Tribhuvan International Airport were affected due to poor visibility caused by continuous rainfall.
According to TIA general manager Jagannath Niraula, international flights of the Air China have been 'diverted' and other international flights have also been 'delayed' with the prevalence of worse weather.
As informed, the Pokhara, Bharatpur and Simara Airports were also closed till noon due to same reason. According to the airport, only Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) are being prevailed.
Due to poor visibility at the Pokhara Airport, no flights were taking place there.
Only two flights between Pokhara and Kathmandu were conducted today. Buddha Air information officer Dipendra Kumar Karna informed that the regional flights of Bharatpur, Pokhara and Nepalgunj were also affected due to the weather.
Similarly, the flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar has also been cancelled, TIA source informed.
