Complaint lodged against ambassadorial nominee Timsina

Kathmandu, August 27—A complaint has been lodged with a parliamentary committee against Netra Prasad Timsina, who has been proposed as the ambassador to Malaysia.

The complaint argues that Timsina is unfit for the role because he is currently serving as the chairman of the central working committee of the Nepal Red Cross Society.

The complaint states,"Dr. Netra Prasad Timsina, proposed as ambassador to Malaysia, is currently fulfilling his duties as the chairman of the central working committee of the Nepal Red Cross Society. Since his ongoing role with the Nepal Red Cross Society, which receives foreign aid, conflicts with the appointment criteria for an ambassador, he should be disqualified from the position."

The confidential complaint highlights concerns about Timsina's involvement with an organization that relies on foreign aid.
