Nine complaints filed against proposed ambassadors
Kathmandu, August 26 — Nine complaints have been filed with the parliamentary hearing committee regarding the proposed ambassadors for 17 countries. The committee will address these complaints at its meeting on Tuesday.
Committee Chairperson Ishwari Neupane informed Ratopati that a total of nine complaints have been received. "We will review the complaints and discuss them tomorrow at 11 o'clock," she said.
The Cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli recommended ambassadors for 18 countries on July 29. However, during a parliamentary hearing on August 13, a ten-day period was provided for public complaints concerning the proposed ambassadors for 17 countries. The name of Kanta Rijal, who was recommended for Australia, was not included in the notice for complaints.
Following the government's submission of the ambassador recommendations to Parliament, the hearing committee issued a public notice inviting complaints. As a result, nine complaints were filed with the committee.
According to the information received, two of the nine complaints were submitted via email, while the remaining seven were registered in person at the Parliament Secretariat.
