Flood risk rises in several districts as Monsoon intensifies
Kathmandu, August 24 - The ongoing monsoon is bringing light rain and occasional lightning to parts of Karnali province and isolated areas elsewhere in the country.
As of this morning, water levels in the Koshi, Narayani, Karnali, Mahakali rivers and their tributaries, as well as the Kankai, Kamala, Bagmati, East Rapti, West Rapti, and Babai rivers, are below alert levels and are rising normally, according to the flood forecast division.
However, the department warns that water levels are expected to rise today in several regions, including Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhupalchok, Ilam, Morang, Bara, Parsa, Makwanpur, Chitwan, Dailekh, Kalikot, Bajura, Bajhang, Baitadi, Darchula, and other small rivers in nearby districts.
