Kailali district hit by floods: Over 100 homes inundated
Dhangadhi, August 21 - Continuous rain has caused flooding in more than 100 homes across Kailali. On Wednesday, flooding affected Kailari Rural Municipality, Bhajani Municipality, Gauriganga Municipality, Ghodaghodi Municipality, and other areas in the district.
In Kailari Rural Municipality alone, 72 homes have been flooded. Bhuwan Bakharia, the municipality's disaster focal person, reported that 36 houses in Old Mankapur (wards 5 and 7), 25 houses in Janakpur and Basanta, and 11 houses in Bhagaha have been affected.
Gauriganga Municipality has also experienced flooding, with 22 houses in Mahadeva, Bhagwanpur, and Shankarpur villages (wards 7 and 9) being inundated, according to the District Administration Office Kailali.
Additionally, several houses in Ghodaghodi Municipality—specifically in Seukalia (ward 5) and Rattipur (ward 9)—have also been flooded.
