Manohara river overflowed, 28 rescued in Bhaktapur

Bhaktapur: The Manohara River and the Mahadev River have overflowed into local settlements in Bhaktapur. Inspector Tekendra Poudel of the District Police Office Bhaktapur informed Ratopati that 28 people were rescued from the riverbanks in the Suryabinayak and Madhyapur Thimi municipalities.

The flood has affected residents in Suryabinayak Municipality Wards 2 and 4, as well as Madhyapur Thimi Municipality Ward 1. Inspector Poudel informed that security personnel from the Nepal Army, Armed Police Forces, and Nepal Police have relocated 28 individuals to safety and are working to recover submerged belongings.

In Suryabinayak Municipality-4, located near Modern College in Magar village, the Mahadev Khola has inundated the slums. Similarly, Suryabinayak Municipality-2 and Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-1 have experienced flooding around the Manohara Khola in Balkot. The flood has also caused damage to cowsheds and terraces along the riverbanks.
