Nepal chases 115 to beat Hong Kong

KATHMANDU: In the ongoing ACC Premier Cup Cricket in Oman, Nepal needs 115 runs to win against Hong Kong.

Hong Kong batted first after losing the toss at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1) and managed to score 114 runs in 17 overs, losing all wickets.

Anshe Rath of Hong Kong scored the highest with 34 runs. Nepal's Abinash Bohara took 3 wickets, Lalit Rajbanshi and Dipendra Singh Airee took 2 each, while Karan KC took 1 wicket. However, adverse weather conditions interrupted the game in the 18th over.

With two wins in their previous matches, Nepal leads Group 'A' at the top of the points table, while Hong Kong, with one win, is currently in fourth place.

In Group 'A', Malaysia and Qatar are also competing, while in Group 'B', Oman-UAE and Bahrain-Kuwait matches are scheduled for 4:45 pm today.

Nepal is part of Group 'A' along with Hong Kong, Malaysia, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, while Group 'B' includes Bahrain, Cambodia, Kuwait, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, with the final winner earning the opportunity to play in the Asia Cup.
