Nepal secures victory over Qatar led by Airee's stellar performance

KATHMANDU: Nepal clinched a commanding win over Qatar by 32 runs in the second match of the ACC Men's Premier Cup.

At the Al-Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman, Qatar, chasing a target of 211 runs for victory, managed only 178 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Captain Muhammad Tanvir's impressive 63 runs off 33 balls, including four fours and six sixes, provided some resistance.

However, contributions from Mohammad Ahnaf (23), Himanshu Rathore (22), Adnan Mirza (19), and Qamaran Khan (18) weren't enough to turn the tide.

Nepal's bowlers, including Lalit Rajbanshi, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Gulshan Jha, stood out with two wickets each, while Kushal Malla and Avinash Bohora chipped in with one wicket apiece.

In the first innings, after winning the toss, Nepal amassed a formidable total of 210 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs.

Airee's extraordinary feat of hitting six consecutive sixes in a single over propelled Nepal to set a daunting target for Qatar.

With Airee's exceptional performance and solid teamwork, Nepal showcased its prowess on the cricketing stage, setting a promising tone for future matches in the tournament.
