Nepali Congress names Khadka and Singh for by-elections

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party, has announced Dambar Khadka as its candidate for Ilam-2 and Abhishek Singh for Bhajang-1 in the upcoming by-elections.

Scheduled for April 27, these by-elections follow the selection of Khadka, who previously contested in 2079 but faced defeat against CPN-UML’s Subash Chandra Nembang.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Singh, son of the late Sudurpaschim Province minister Prithvi Bahadur Singh, has been chosen to contest in Bhajang-1.

The party's decision was made during a morning meeting held at President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence after three days of jubilant celebrations.
