Terai-Madhes abuzz with Holi festivities today; Public holiday declared

MADHYABINDU: The vibrant festival of colors, Holi, is currently underway in Terai-Madhes, accompanied by exuberant celebrations.

Holi, also known as Fagu Purnima, is traditionally observed in Terai districts on the day following its celebration in the mountainous and hilly regions.

In acknowledgment of this festive occasion, the government has declared a public holiday in Terai-Madhes today.

The joyful spirit of Holi is being embraced across numerous districts including Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East and West), Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Siraha, Udayapur, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, and Kanchanpur.

Furthermore, communities such as Magar and Tharu, which constitute a significant population in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), are also partaking in the Holi festivities today.

Holi, celebrated as a festival of joy and color, brings people together in a spirit of harmony and merriment.
