Possibility of snowfall in high hills and mountains today

KATHMANDU, Jan 29: As Nepal wakes up to varying weather patterns, the morning sky is draped in clouds in hilly areas, while other regions enjoy clear conditions.

This atmospheric shift is attributed to the partial influence of westerly winds prevailing in the country.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, most parts of the Tarai region are experiencing foggy conditions.

The afternoon forecast predicts partly cloudy to mostly clear skies in the hilly areas.

However, there is a likelihood of light snowfall in specific locations across the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

As night falls, the weather is expected to turn partly cloudy in hilly regions, with predominantly clear conditions elsewhere.

The Department advises that daily life, health, transportation, and air services could be impacted in the Tarai region due to widespread fog.
