Bagmati secures commanding  six wickets victory against Lumbini

KATHMANDU: In a gripping match at the Tribhuvan University cricket ground in Kirtipur, Bagmati Province emerged victorious, securing a six-wicket win against Lumbini Province in the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024 on Saturday.

Electing to bowl first, Bagmati Province's strategic decision paid off as Surya Tamang showcased a brilliant performance, claiming an impressive six wickets with a masterful bowling spell.

Complementing Tamang's effort, Bipin Acharya added two wickets to the team's tally.

Facing a target of 106 runs set by Lumbini Province, Bagmati Province displayed their batting prowess by chasing down the total in just 17.2 overs.

Ishan Pandey took the lead with a remarkable 50 runs, while Rit Gautam added 24 runs to the scoreboard.

In the midst of a challenging battle, Lumbini Province's Sushant Thapa contributed 28 runs, and Nirmal Gurung added 27 runs.

On the bowling front for Lumbini, Nirmal Gurung secured two wickets, while Krishna Karki claimed one wicket.
