Bagmati Province sets 199-run target for Gandaki in PM Cup clash

KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024 witnessed a riveting showdown as Bagmati Province laid down a challenging target of 199 runs for Gandaki Province.

The match, held at the iconic Tribhuvan University cricket ground, commenced with Bagmati winning the toss and opting to bat first.

Displaying their prowess, Ashutosh Ghiraiya and Ishan Pandey emerged as standout performers for Bagmati Province, amassing impressive scores of 44 and 43 runs, respectively.

Despite their commendable efforts, Karnali Province's bowlers managed to restrict Bagmati's innings, concluding at 198 runs in 49.1 overs.

Kamal Pariyar showcased a stellar bowling performance for Karnali Province, securing four crucial wickets, while Bipin Khatri played a supporting role with two key dismissals.

 Bagmati Province currently holds the second spot on the scoreboard with eight points, while Gandaki Province holds the eighth position with two points.
