Bagmati Province secures victory over Karnali with Rijan Dhakal's five-wicket haul

KATHMANDU: In a dominating performance, Bagmati Province clinched a convincing seven-wicket victory over Karnali Province in a match of the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament, courtesy of Rijan Dhakal's exceptional bowling display.

Rijan Dhakal exhibited his prowess in a remarkable spell of seven overs, claiming five crucial wickets while conceding only 25 runs, including a maiden over.

Complementing Dhakal's stellar performance, Krizan Gurung secured two wickets, while Pratish GC, Surya Tamang, and Bipin Acharya each contributed with one wicket.

Bagmati Province's disciplined bowling efforts restricted Karnali Province to a modest total of 78 runs, dismissing all their batsmen in just 24.2 overs after Karnali opted to bat first upon winning the toss.

In the pursuit of the target, Bagmati Province displayed their batting prowess, reaching the required total in just 13 overs, securing their fourth win in the ongoing tournament.

The comprehensive victory underscores Bagmati Province's strong performance in both bowling and batting, positioning them as a formidable contender in the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament.
