Madhesh Province posts a 232-runs target for Karnali in PM Cup clash

KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024 witnessed an intense battle as Madhesh Province opted to set a target of 232 runs for Karnali Province at the Tribhuvan University (TU) cricket ground.

Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Madhesh Province encountered a resilient Karnali bowling attack that managed to restrict them to 231 runs, losing nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.

Notable contributions came from Madhesh's captain Hari Shankar Shah and Mayan Yadav, both amassing 50 runs each.

Opening batsman Anil Sah's solid 44 runs further solidified Madhesh Province's position.

Karnali Province's bowlers displayed commendable performances, with Dipendra Rawat claiming the highest wickets with a four-wicket haul. Anuj Chanara took two wickets, while Dipesh Adhikari, Unish B Singh, and Diwan Pun contributed one wicket each.

As Karnali Province prepares to chase the 232-run target, the stage is set for a thrilling second innings in this PM Cup encounter.
