Members of Parliament receive nearly Rs 2.5 million for medical expenses in the past year
KATHMANDU: Over the last twelve months, members of the House of Representatives (HoR) have collectively obtained Rs 2,490,607 to cover medical expenses.
A total of 42 lawmakers availed themselves of treatment reimbursements from Paush of the preceding year to Paush of the current year, with some receiving support on multiple occasions.
Bina Kumari Thanaita leads the list, receiving the highest amount of Rs 999,487 during this period.
Meanwhile, Asma Kumari Chaudhary stands out for the frequency of reimbursements, having received the allocated amount five times, totaling Rs 56,862.
Following closely, Ranendra Baraki secured four reimbursements amounting to Rs 29,516.
This disclosure sheds light on the financial assistance provided to parliamentarians for their healthcare needs, showcasing a range of support from Rs 500 to Rs 1 million.
