Ghiraiya's masterful century propels Bagmati Province to 274-Run target against Koshi Province

KATHMANDU: In a riveting clash at the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024, Bagmati Province exhibited a commanding performance, establishing a formidable target of 274 runs for Koshi Province on Friday.

Aashutosh Ghiraiya emerged as the star of the innings, creating a cricketing spectacle by notching up a brilliant century. His outstanding demonstration of power featured an impressive array of 16 boundaries (fours) and two towering sixes, marking the fifth century in the ongoing tournament.

Before Ghiraiya's exceptional innings, players like Rashi Khan of Nepal Police Club, Sandeep Jhora of APF, Binod Bhandari of Nepal Army Club, and Sujan Thapaliya of Koshi Province had also achieved the distinction of scoring centuries in this fiercely competitive tournament.

Having secured the toss, Koshi Province chose to field first, and Bagmati Province seized the opportunity, amassing a total of 273 runs while losing 10 wickets in 48.3 overs. Captain Rit Gautam and Rabin Joshi also made significant contributions to the team's overall score, adding 49 and 43 runs respectively.

The stage is now set for an enthralling chase as Koshi Province endeavors to reach the challenging target set by Bagmati Province in this high-stakes cricket encounter.
