Hearing on Aftab Alam case put off
KATHMANDU: The hearing of the case against former minister and Nepali Congress leader Mohammad Aftab Alam has been postponed.
Earlier, the hearing was scheduled for today but was later put off as only two Judges were available out of seven in the District Court.
11 individuals, including Alam, have been charged with murder and attempted murder using explosives.
The District Attorney’s Office in Rautahat had filed the case against Alam, seeking life imprisonment on three counts of crime. Alam denies the charges related to the production of explosives and offenses related to murder, maintaining that no explosion occurred.
Ten, including Alam, are charged with burning those injured in a bomb explosion at a brick kiln, while one person is accused of aiding the crime.
